PM Reader Challenge – The Trip to Rocky Ridge

For this task you need to do some reading out loud.

You will record a video of yourself reading the first page of your PM Reader.
At the SAME TIME you will use the Voice Typing feature on this Google Doc.

This will give you an opportunity to hear how you read, and to see how accurate your pronunciation is.

Start your Voice Typing here the trip to Rocky Ricky i love going to visit aunt and Bonnie at Rocky Ridge, said Ruby, but the train trip is so boring. And we have to leave so early, added her ten year old twin brother, Nate. outside, the sky was dark except for a smudge of Pale Dawn light. Ruby gave a noisy yawn as she packed her overnight bag. Nate yawned , too, And then let out a laugh. The twins were best friends and they did most things together, even yawning! “Hurry up, you two!” called Mom.” you need to be at the station for ten minutes. quickly, Ruby pushed a library book into her bag. This was followed by a sketch pad and a set of Glitter pens. I hope these will stop me from getting bored, she told Nate, with a sign. It was such a long, dull journey to Rocky Ridge!

Why would a cow have wandered onto the rail track?
Because they were next to where the cows live.
How did Aunt Bonnie know when the train would be arriving? She said that the train would arrive in ten minutes.

States of Matter – Response to Text

Answer each question to the best of your ability, using full sentences and make sure to include detail in your responses.

  1.   What are the three states of matter commonly found on Earth, and what are TWO of their properties?

State #1: State #2: State #3:
Property #1: solid- relatively rigid, definite volume and shape. In a solid, the atoms and molecules are attached to each other. ... Property #1 liquid – is a water that flows and when people dive all the way on the bottom they will sink because the water is pushing them down that way.  Property #1 gas- is when they are separating and never stick together or flow but they can only move around but not next to each other.
Property #2:

commutative

Property #2 Associative, Property #2 and disturbed properties

  1. What is the fourth state of matter called?
  1. Electrons
  2. Particles
  3. Plasma
  4. Laser

  1. What happens to the speed of molecules when the temperature increases?
  1. They move quicker
  2. They move slower
  3. They move at the same speed
  4. They explode.

  1. Explain what happens to the molecules in a liquid when they are cooled down to their freezing point.

So when the liquid is in the fridge for so long it will turn into solid because when it on the freezing point  that liquid turns to solid.

  1. Explain what happens to the molecules in a liquid when they are heated to their boiling point.

When boiling occurs, the more energetic molecules change to a gas, spread out, and form bubbles.
These rise to the surface and enter the atmosphere.

  1. What could be the reason for the fact that gases can be compressed more easily than solids or liquids?
Gases are compressible because most of the volume of a gas is composed of the large amounts of empty space between the gas particles

  1. Explain how each of these jobs might need to understand and work with different types of matter. (You may need to research to find out more)

Job Gas Liquid Solid
Baker
The gas helps you bake the flour and it will be ready to be cooked.
When you use the water for the flour it will turn into a soft flour that is why you use liquid . When you bake the flour and put it all the way on the high temperature it will turn to solid and you  can’t eat it.
Fire

Fighter

When you are a firefighter you will see fire so you use a hose to take it out when it out it will look like gas. When you use the liquid you can take something out and when you see the liquid you will see it flow. When you touch the firefighter hat it feels like it is solid .
Welder Gloves or other staff but when you burn it it will turn into gas when you take out the fire. When you see a glove and when you pour the water in the glove it will feel squishy. Kit a kit is a solid thing it won’t break but it will stay together.

.this is my respond e text , it all about solid liquid or gas we have to explained it.
